How would you design a system to track transaction status across multiple blockchain networks?

Imagine you are tracking a package being delivered. You want to know when it is picked up, on the way, and delivered. Similarly, in a blockchain, we track a transaction as it goes from pending, to confirmed, to completed, using special tools to watch its journey on different paths.
